Summer Recreation Program

2019 Summer Recreation Sign Ups

Dear Parents or Guardians:

Welcome to the Village of Downtown's, 2019 Summer Recreation Program! Summer Recreation will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am until noon, with the exception of extended times on field trip days. Typically, Mondays will be crafts and outdoor play. Wednesday, field trips or events and Friday will be games and snacks. A Makerspace will be available at Summer Recreation this year to provide a lot of fun STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) experiences! Our program is cost inclusive covered by the enrollment fee, so no extra monies are needed for field trips or snacks.

We have plenty of great activities planned this summer! Our hope is that your child has fun in this interactive and social environment, but our upmost concern is safety. It is imperative that all participants are signed in and out, including chaperones. Please mark on the registration form if your child is permitted to sign themselves in and out and please delegate a caregiver, as well. Please note that incomplete or falsified registration forms shall prevent participation in our program. Please be sure to advise and instruct us if your child has any medical condition or tendencies. Policy requires close toed shoes and socks (NO FLIP FLOPS!) to be worn by participants for field trips and park activities.

Buses will leave ON TIME on designated field trip days, so please be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow for sign in. We have arranged busing through Chippewa Local Schools. Parents / Chaperones are welcome to participate on field trips, although, they will be asked to drive separately. Parents bringing siblings of participants cannot be considered chaperones.

In case of severe weather or unforeseen circumstances that cause summer recreation to be cancelled, messages will be posted on the local government channel 15 (Doylestown Cable) and channel 1023 (Spectrum) and via new REMIND app. To sign up for alerts and helpful reminders about summer recreation, please text @mdannemi to 81010 or visit

If you have any questions, please feel free to call or text the Summer Recreation Director.
